Good evening Welby Way families,
It was wonderful to see so many families and students at the successful GlowChella on Saturday at Hale Middle School. This event could not have been made possible without the commitment and dedication of POWW with the incredible silent auction, delicious food, and fun activities for the children. Thank you to the parents who have spent months and endless hours bringing this night to life. Their hard work and leadership is greatly appreciated.
This Week
-Cyber Security Training - All K- 5 grade students will participate in a short cyber security training on Monday where we will be discussing Internet and device safety for both home and school. This is the same topic as discussed at the last coffee with the principal.
Extinct Forever - On Tuesday from 6:30-7:30 pm Rooms 16, 10, and 23 will be presenting their "Extinct Forever" play in the auditorium. Doors will open 6:20 pm or just prior to the start of the show. It is going to be an play as the students have been working.
-Parent Conferences and Minimum Day dismissal at 12:35 pm - On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday we will have 12:35 pm minimum day dismissal for our parent conferences. Please be sure to mark your calendar for proper dismissal time for pick up. Also, all after school enrichment classes will follow dismissal except for 3rd & 4th grade coding along with 5th grade VEX will remain at its regular 3:00 pm time. Monday and Tuesday will be regular dismissal time.
***All after school tutoring will be cancelled next week and resume the following week.
-Spring Photos - On Wednesday and Thursday we will have Spring Photos with Cornerstone Photography. Grades 3rd - 5th will be on Wednesday and TK - 2nd grade on Thursday. All orders are completed on line and money will not be accepted at the time of ordering.
5th Grade Culmination Photos- Cornerstone photography will have cap and gowns. If you prefer that your child wear that instead of formal wear, but please keep in mind that the top part of their shirt will show, so a collared shirt or a nice blouse should be worn underneath. Please let your child know to indicate to the photographer when they go in for photos, as to whether or not they would like to wear the cap and gown for pictures.
5th Grade Walk to Hale - On Thursday following attendance our 5th graders will be walking to Hale Middle School. They will be observing their various programs, performances, and learning about this school.
Odyssey of the Mind State Competition - On Saturday, I am wishing our Odyssey of the Mind teams the best of luck next week as they move to the State Competition. I know with their confidence, team work, and creativity they will do amazing.
