I am looking forward to seeing everyone at Friday's New Family Orientation or "Welcome Back Event." I truly thank all the families who have taken the time to return your "Back to School Packet" early. This is highly recommended, will help you avoid long lines on Friday, and allow you to receive your Welby Way Stamped ticket to move straight to the line to find out your child's classroom assignment. Thank you for your assistance with this.
*All required Back to School documents can be found on the Welby Way website at https://welbywayces.lausd.org/ under " BACK to SCHOOL FORMS" or a paper packet can be picked up in the office.
**To receive your child's classroom assignment and have the opportunity to possibly meet your child's teacher, families must submit the completed “Return to School” paperwork on or before Friday and receive your Welby Way stamped ticket.
***The office is currently open from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday to drop off forms and answer any questions.
Friday, August 11th will be our "New Family Orientation" and “Welcome Back Family” event. The day will follow accordingly.
- 8:30 - 9:15 am TK & Kinder Orientation in the auditorium
- 9:30 - 10:15 am All New Charter & Magnet Orientation in the auditorium - for all new 1st - 5th grade families entering Welby Way
- 10:00 am Welby Way Day Care Meet & Greet in front of school
- 11:00 am - 12:00 pm "Find Out and Meet Your Teacher"
**POWW will have food, Welby spirit wear for sale, and opportunities for you to donate to the Annual Giving Fund to help support the many enrichment programs for our students.
**KYDS will have a table in front of school to meet all families enrolled, accept applications, and answer questions.
If you are unable to attend Friday's event. At each grade level gate on Monday morning, a Welby Way staff member will be present to provide classroom assignments at that time. Classroom assignments will not be given out over the phone and teachers will not be available for the "Meet and Greet" past 12:00 pm. Please do know that our teachers and staff work extremely hard to make classroom assignments each school year and many factors are taken into place for each and every child. With this, no classroom change requests will be accepted.
