Good evening Welby Way families,

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend as we move into a busy last week of school. With that I would like to thank our Welby Way cheer team that shined at the Region North Kindness/Fun Run at Pierce College on Saturday. They definitely demonstrated their pride and skill as they represented Welby Way. 

I would also like to congratulate our ballroom dancers who competed at El Camino on Saturday.  All of the students did an incredible job, worked super hard, and demonstrated their hard work and talent. Congratulations to the 4th grade students who won 3rd place along with all students who participated, and those who won the jack and jill medal.

Lost and Found: There are many items left in the lost and found.  Please be sure to stop by the lost and found this week to retrieve your child's lost jacket, water bottle, and lunch box.  All remaining items after next Monday will be donated.

Dismissal for the Week:

• Monday - 2.30 pm regular dismissal

• Tuesday - 1:30 pm  regular Tuesday dismissal

• Wednesday - 2:30 pm regular dismissal

• Thursday & Friday - 12:30 pm Minimum Day dismissal

Room 12 Classroom Play: On Monday at 8:15 am and 1:30 pm room 12 will have their classroom play.  All families will check in at the main office for their visitor's badge. Any younger non-Welby Way siblings are not permitted to attend. Thank you for your understanding. 

Volunteer Tea:  We look forward to celebrating our dedicated volunteers this Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 am for our annual Volunteer Tea. Volunteers can check in at the front office and will be provided directions for the location on campus.  The time, support, and dedication of all our volunteers is invaluable and beyond appreciated.  

New Student Orientation Meeting:  If you have a younger or new Magnet student attending Welby Way next school year, please join Mrs. Kearns, Mrs. Klein, and I in the auditorium for the New Student Orientation at 3:30 pm in the auditorium.   

POWW Talent Show: This Tuesday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the auditorium will be the POWW Talent Show.  I can't wait to see our students show their creativity, confidence, and shine. It is going to be a great show and thank to our supportive POWW for organizing and making this event possible for our students. Flyer attached for more details.  

5th Grade Culmination:  This Wednesday I can't wait to congratulate our 5th Grade students as they culminate from elementary school. In the main courtyard at 8:15 am will be our charter culmination for Mrs. Hoehn & Ms. Medlin's classes and the magnet culmination will follow at 10:15 am for Mrs. Dang, Mrs. Hauser, & Mrs. Lundy's classes.  All families will enter through the front gate. If you have a younger Welby Way siblings that you plan to have attend, they will need to checked out of school from the office and will be marked absent. Siblings are not able to go to class and then go straight to the ceremony without being signed out of school in the office.  

Kindergarten/TK Bridging Event:  Our students in room 1, 30, & 31 will have their Bridging Event on the last day of school, June 9th at 8:30 am in the main courtyard for parents to attend.  Family members will enter through the front gate for this event.  

Final POWW Fundraiser:  On Friday from 10:00 am - 10:00 pm will be our final POWW restaurant fundraiser at BobaTime on Van Owen by Trader Joe's. What a great way to end the school year, support Welby Way, and enjoy something delicious.

Last Day of School:  Our last day of school will be Friday, June 9th. 

The 2023 - 2024 school year will begin on Tuesday, August 15th.
