News for the Week of May 7-11
Posted 5/8/23

Good evening Welby Way families,

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend and our 5th grade teachers and students were able to get some well deserved rest after a fun filled 3 days away at WOLF Camp.

Once again we are currently working to prepare enrollment for the 2023 - 2024 school year especially with all our new TK and kindergarten students enrolling.  Classes are filling up fast.   Your assistance is needed.  If you live within the Welby Way boundaries and have an incoming TK or kindergarten student or know of a neighbor or friend who is yet to enroll, please let Mrs. DaCorsi or Irma know as soon as possible.  This greatly assists in giving us an idea of how many incoming students we will have in August for the new school year.  I truly thank you for your assistance with this.

SBAC Testing:  This week on Tuesday all 3rd - 5th grade (5th grade will begin on Wednesday) students begin our annual required SBAC testing in the morning   Please be sure your child starts their morning with a healthy breakfast and comes to school each day on time in order to not miss their test and start with a clear mind.  All studies show that students do best when testing with their peers and not having to make-up a test.  Also, please be sure your child goes to bed on time each night and gets a good nights rest.  I know our Welby Way students will rock the test and do their best!

Thursday:  On Thursday, our 2nd grade charter students are going on a field trip to The Tree People.  There is no rain in the forecast so I know they will have a wonderful time.

Friday:  On Friday after school will be the last day 5th grade will be selling "sweets and treats" after school to support their end of the year activities.

I continue to thank you all for your support and the gift of your child. I hope you have a nice evening.  This is all for now.
