Wow! What a wonderful event last night with so many families who attended The Glow Dance Party. There were over 500 tickets sold, wonderful items that were bid on, and so much fun had by all who attended. A gigantic thank you goes out to our incredible POWW team and the many families who volunteered their time to organize and bring the event to life weeks prior and on this day. Also, thank you to the many 5th grade parents and students who supported Earth Day on Saturday by bringing our front planters to life again with many new colorful plants and soli. The students also planted a variety of plants to take home. Thank you, Samantha Ludwig and her team for making this event a success along with Mrs. Kearns.
Reminder there is no school tomorrow as it is unassigned day in honor of Armenian Genocide. School will resume on Tuesday with 1:30 pm dismissal.
This week we have a busy week ahead of us with many activities.
Tuesday: On Tuesday from 7:00 – 8:00 pm will be the next Betsy Brown Braun parent workshop via zoom. She will be discussing Self-Reliance and Resilience for our children – such an important topic following the pandemic. I will be sending out zoom log in and registration information on Tuesday. Mark your calendars and be sure to attend as her workshops are always so informative.
Wednesday: On Wednesday we will have our April fire drill in the morning. This is an important time to practice our emergency procedures both at school and home.
Wednesday will also be Al Italiano POWW restaurant night. Enjoy a delicious dinner there or order ahead of time for pick up. There will also be a special Welby Way dinner package offered for preorder. Times and specifics will be sent out on Tuesday. Enjoy not making dinner and continue to help support Welby Way along with a Welby family business.
Thursday: On Thursday your child can show their school spirit with twin day by matching with a friend, group of friends, or class so everyone can be included. I can’t wait to see all the creative pairs.
Thursday will be a minimum day with 12:30 pm dismissal. Please don’t forget to plan accordingly to pick up your child on time. Thank you.
Also, on Thursday is Open House from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. Welby Way cheer will be performing at 5:00 pm in the front courtyard and families can visit classrooms starting at 5:30 pm. Our students and teachers have been working extremely hard all year long and I can’t for you to see all their accomplishments.
Friday: On Friday will be our monthly Honor’s Awards assembly in the courtyard in the morning. If your child is receiving an award your child’s teacher will let you know the specific time for your child’s grade. I am so proud of our students for hard work with either strong character or academics.
