    Good evening Welby Way families,

     

    I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.  Also, for all the football fans, I hope your team is winning in the Super Bowl.   Thank you to the many families who came by the lost and found to retrieve your child's lost jackets, sweaters, water bottles, and lunch boxes on Thursday and Friday.  There is still many items left to be picked up.   The lost and found is located at the front of the school for parents and students to come pick up and lost items.  Thank you for your assistance with this.

     

    This week:

    Tuesday:  On Tuesday at 8:05 am in the parent center, there will be our February POWW meeting.   All are welcome to participate and learn about all the wonderful things our parents are doing to support our school.  

     

    Wednesday:  On Wednesday 5th grade will have their cap/gown photos taken along with their panorama photo.   Flyers were sent home with ordering information.

     

    Thursday:  On Thursday we will have our February fire and drop and hold drill. This is always a good time to review your emergency plan at home to ensure all families members know it and are best prepared in case of an emergency.  Also, on Tuesday of next week, we will have our spring lock-down drill.  Please let your child know these are both drills and are so important to practice to be best prepared in case of an emergency while at school.

     

    Friday:  On Friday at 8:15 am, I will be hosting Coffee with the Principal and all are welcome. I will provide any district updates, discuss our upcoming budget for the 2023 - 2024, and school needs based on student achievement.  I hope you are able to stop in for a cup of coffee, a goodie, and provide input. 

     

    Magnet Parent Survey:  This week magnet teachers will be emailing all families a parent magnet survey.  Please take a few minutes prior to Feb. 27th to provide your input as it is greatly appreciated.

     

    Reminders:  There will be no school next Monday, Feb. 20th in observance of President's Day.  School will resume with 1:30 pm dismissal on Tuesday.   We will also be hosting a book drive to support children in need with more information to come.
